Kennesaw State’s enrollment climbs to more than 51,000

Kennesaw State University continues to be a school of choice for students throughout Georgia and beyond, with Fall 2025 enrollment reaching a new high of 51,375. The record number of students taking classes at KSU is a 7.4% increase over last fall, marking the seventh consecutive year of enrollment gains for the state’s third-largest university. Kennesaw State leads the University System of Georgia in enrolling the largest number of Georgia residents.

Kennesaw State also boasts the highest number of first-year students among all USG institutions, with 9,333 beginning freshmen this fall.

The freshman class is the fourth cohort of KSU’s FLIGHT Program, a comprehensive four-year framework that supports students’ academic and personal development while building a sense of community for them.

“This is an exciting time for our university, with more than 51,000 students each taking their own unique journey at Kennesaw State,” President Kathy S. Schwaig said.

“As we grow, we remain committed to providing students with a supportive, engaging, and career-relevant education while preparing them to make an impact in high-demand fields.”

Another key element of Kennesaw State’s growth is graduate student enrollment, which has risen to 5,306.

Expanding graduate programs and enrollment is one of the stated goals of the KSU strategic plan launched in 2024.

KSU continues to attract students from across the state and nation, with 156 Georgia counties and 48 states represented. Kennesaw State’s appeal extends beyond the U.S. as well, as 1,416 international students from 110 countries are enrolled this fall.

In addition, KSU’s Dual Enrollment Program provides the opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to get a head start on college. This fall, 1,940 local students are dual enrolled.
