Highlights from Kennesaw State football's stellar 2025 season

In just their second season in the FBS, the Owls broke records and made program history in 2025. From their Conference USA Championship title and first bowl game appearance, to being undefeated at home, Kennesaw State football had a storybook year.

The Owls were in the spotlight throughout the season with nine games broadcast on national television. The team also received many accolades in 2025, including head coach Jerry Mack’s designation as Conference USA Coach of the Year, HERO Sports Group of Five Coach of the Year, and being named a finalist for the 2025 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award. Kennesaw State also dominated the 2025 Conference USA annual awards and all-conference awards: redshirt senior linebacker Baron Hopson was named Conference USA Co-Defensive Player of the Year, the Owls racked up a league-best 16 all-conference selections, and they had the most first- and second-teamers since 2021.

The season was highlighted by the team’s grit and consistency on the field, meshed with passion and energy from the fans in the stands. Thank you, Owl Nation, for your support and for making this a season to remember forever!

FIRST BOWL GAME APPEARANCE

Kennesaw State took on Western Michigan in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on December 19, 2025.

CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP WIN

In a rematch that came down to the final minute of the game, the Owls beat the Jacksonville State Gamecocks to claim the CUSA title on December 5, 2025.

Becoming Bowl Eligible

The Owls won their sixth game, making them eligible to compete in a bowl game, on October 28, 2025 after a win at home against UTEP.

UNDEFEATED AT HOME

The Owls won all six home games, several in front of a sellout crowd, at Walens Family Field at Fifth Third Stadium. It was the first time KSU has finished 6-0 at home since 2021.
